From Lima I flew to Paramaribo, Suriname to meet Hanneke again. She is doing an apprenticeship in the AZP hospital here in Paramaribo. In many ways this was a sort of homecoming. First of all I met Hanneke again after a more than six months separation. Furthermore I can speak Dutch again and people actually understand what I am saying, liquorice is widely available here, I had my first bread with peanutbutter in more than half a year, and Sunday evenings seven o'clock I can watch Dutch soccer on Studio Sport again. Hanneke and I went on a jungle tour to Palumeu, deep in the rain forest of Suriname close to the Brazilian border. It was a really relaxing trip. We had a little wooden lodge at the river bank. We swam in the rapids in the river, did some bush hikes and enjoyed eachothers company.
